I signed up with a groupon for training. I have never done any kind of exercise and I am 52 years old. I would like to come to an orientation this Tuesday, but need to know the time and address of where I come. Then I would like to take a 9 a.m. class beginning on Wednesday, January 4th. Please tell me how to go about being sure that I am signed up.

Thank you,
Judi Sears

Judi, the new camper orientation on Tuesday, January 3rd is at 7pm (plan on 2 hours). The address is 1623 N State St, Orem (right next to Costa Vida). I have room for you in the 9am camp. I look forward to meeting you.

I, too, am interested in purchasing the 4-week boot-camp offer through Groupon. I’m just a little confused as to what is offered. You attend boot-camp for 1 hour a day, 3x a week. But then do you attend the cardio camps also the other 2 days a week? Or are the cardio sessions extra add ons that I need to purchase? Also, I’m a little nervous to sign up because I am pretty out of shape. Your site says that all fitness levels are welcomed. I just want one last reassurance that that is true!!

Thanks for your help.

Claire, sorry for the confusion. You can attend camp 5 days a week, both boot camp MWF and cardio camp TTh.

As far as your fitness level, everyone feels that way when they first start. I’ve been training for 16 yrs, I know how to scale back exercises and workouts to accommodate even the poorest of fitness levels. That being said it is not easy, though anything worth doing is rarely easy. You will do fine.

Hey Mat,
Before I purchase the groupon I want to make sure you have room at the orientation and the 6am camp.

Thanks!

No room in the 6am camp time. However, due to the response we have opened up a new camp time…6:30pm MWF. If that works for you I can get you started this phase.

Sorry Mat, one last question. If I do sign up for boot-camp, do I need to contact you guys to reserve a spot for orientation on Tuesday? Is there even anymore spots available for this next phase of training? I’d love to do the women only classes, but I’m not sure that would work with my daughter’s schedule. If I did the 6am or 7am with the guys, would they all put me to shame?!?! I’ve just never done any type of boot-camp and I’m a little intimidated.

Thanks again!! I look forward to training!!

Claire, the only camp times I have opening for this current phase (beginning Jan 3) is in the 9am women’s only camp time. The other times filled up rather quickly. The groupon is “good” for an entire year. The key is to get on the waiting list for the camp time you are interested in as soon as possible. I accept new campers in the order they contact me.

Everyone is intimidated at first, that’s understandable. The goal of camp is not to kill you or make you hurt. It’s to get fit. Will you get sore? Ya. Will you survive? Ya. If you’re passionate about your fitness goal and trust your trainers you will get through the first couple of weeks (which tend to be the hardest) and start seeing some great results. You will be stronger, faster, more flexible, you will feel younger and if you really focus on your nutrition you will be leaner.

The groupon ad didn’t really explain well, but it is a non-military style boot camp. No one is going to yell at you. All my veterans have been in your shoes and are very understanding and encouraging. My trainers are extremely talented in modifying exercises and workouts to accommodate every fitness level. You will be taken care of, I promise.

We have had an great response to the Groupon Deal and because of this we are opening another time slot for this January phase. We will temporarily be offering a 6:30pm camp time MWF. If we have enough interest we will open the time up permanently.

Is it too early to get on the list for the orientation on feb. 25? The classes I would need to attend are full this time around.

Jessi, the sooner you get on the waiting list for the next phase the better odds you have of getting into camp. I never know how many openings will be available till a few days before the phase begins. I accept new campers in the order they contact me and are put on the list.

Summer

Mat,
Hi!
Are you still doing the home boot camp thing?
I hope you are great!

Summer, good to hear from you. We have a home boot camp program. The home boot camper receives monthly workouts in the form of online videos. All the same metabolism boosting workouts but in the privacy of you home or other gym at a fraction of the price…that totally sounds like an infomercial…hahaha.

3 months for $29/month
6 months for $19/month

Let me know if you want to go that route. We also have another affordable option…EXL Fintess Boot Camp Express. Three weekly half hour workouts TThSa for $99/month. This camp utilizes primarily body weight only strength exercises to boost metabolism, gain strength and drop pounds.

Talk to you soon,

Mat “the trainer”
